African Children’s Choir
The African Children’s Choir will be performing at Prestongrange Church on Saturday 21 June 2008 at 7.30 pm. Tickets can be purchased from Chris Dixon Tel 01875 812985 Cost £2.00 per person. This is a fantastic opportunity, do not miss out!
On Our Doorstep!
Preston Lodge High School warmly invite you to our Open Afternoon on Thursday 22nd May 2008, from 2.30pm until 6pm.
“On our Doorstep” is our whole school cross-curricular project for 2008.
What will you see?
- An amazing exhibition showcasing all the work from our subject areas (foyer and assembly hall)
- “The Market Place” (in school dining hall) Local food producers will be setting up stalls selling local produce and school pupils will be running their own market garden stall where you can buy some of the plants and flowers they have been growing this year.
- Rolling programme of music and drama (school hall and drama studio)
All parents and pupils welcome. Please enter by the Market Place.
5K Walk 2008 – Friday 23rd May
Following from the success of this event in the previous sessions we are once again gearing up for the 5km walk. This year the walk is associated with our whole school project “On-Our-Doorstep”. The route we will be following takes us from the school down to Lidl – Along the waterfront at the Power Station – Up West Lorimer Place on to the B6371 – Up lane to B1361 – Along to Preston Terrace then back to school.
In previous years this event has been really well supported by the community and we have had many adults assisting and participating.
This year all participant will be getting bananas and water.
Sponsor money is going to local charities and school funds.

Sports Personality of the Year: Auction
Our prestigious “Sports Personality of the Year” awards ceremony is nearly upon us.
On the evening of Thursday 13th March we will be hosting a night for the very best sporting talent in Preston Lodge High School, and believe me there is plenty to celebrate!
We are in fact having to limit tickets this year due to the great numbers taking part in extra-curricular sport.
You have the opportunity to be involved in our evening too!
We have got a great selection sports items to be auctioned.
- A signed Manchester United shirt
- A signed Scotland rugby ball
- 2 tickets to a Hibernian FC match
- A round of golf for 4 at Castle Park Golf Club (near Gifford)
- A round of golf for 4 at Royal Musselburgh Golf Club

How do I make a bid?
All you do is download and complete the 2008 Sports Personality Award Auction Bidding Form and hand it in to any of the PE dept. (or the school office, clearly marked for PE Staff)

Christmas Concert
The annual Christmas concert at Preston Lodge High School is always a fantastic event and this year promises to be even better!
Venue: Preston Lodge High School
When: Tuesday 11th and Wednesday 12th December @ 7.30 pm
Cost: Adults £3 and Concessions (School Pupils/OAPs) £1
Refreshments will be available on the night.
Tickets can be purchased from the school office (01875 811170), outside the hall at morning breaks or from Mr Bishop in the Music Department. Items at the concert this year will range from traditional carols to Metallica and African Drumming to The Proclaimers Other items include will be The Monkees, Soul Medley, Pirates Of The Carribean and Pulp Fiction.
This is a great opportunity to get into the spirit of Christmas and to hear fabulous musical performances.
