Preston Lodge History Club update…

During the past 6 months the coolest group of pupils started coming to History Club with the delightful Miss Strachan. So far they have learned about lots of different topics including the 1960s, the Cold War, Mary Queen of Scots and Hitler.

At the moment they are investigating the life and times of the Romans.

Don’t worry – they don’t do writing or essays! The group simply eat, chat and talk historical nonsense! Watch this space – where we will tell you what we’ve been up to…

Anyone interested in joining the History Club, please come along and see Miss Strachan – it’s free and fun!

After January’s sell-out concert by the senior students of Preston Lodge High School – and what a fabulous night that was! – we now have another not-to-be-missed date for your diary. On Wednesday 25th March at 7.30pm, Longniddry Parish Church will welcome a new string orchestra made up of players from this part of East Lothian. “Fiddlesticks”, organised by our schools’ string instructor, Mrs Carolyn Wilson, is a group that is full of budding talent, so it will be lovely to enjoy their music presented in a range of different styles.
Admission is free, with donations welcome on the night to benefit this latest venture in East Lothian Schools music. Do come along once again, and encourage the youngsters in their music!
