The chemistry department would like to wish you all a happy and productive Easter break. Revision classes will re commence first week back to help add to your exam preparation. See your teacher if you’d like any extra revision materials.
Reminder that all Chemistry exams are on Monday 14th May.
Glenkinchie Distillery Trip 2011
The Standard Grade and Intermediate 2 Chemistry pupils have recently attended a trip to Glenkinchie Distillery in Pencaitland. We had the opportunity to find out more about the surrounding area of the school and the distilling process, which is covered in the Chemistry course.
The trip was a great success and enjoyed by all who attended.
NAB Revision
It’s that time of the year when most of you will be sitting NAB’s. If you need extra help as part of your revision come along to supported study. See website or posters in department for details. Good Luck!

New Higher Chemistry
During the 2011/2012 school year the Chemistry department will be introducing a new Higher Chemistry course. Please click on the Higher Chemistry tab for more information regarding the new course. If you have any questions come and speak to one of the Chemistry teachers who will be happy to help.

The exams and study leave are fast approaching. Remember there is plenty of support in school if you need extra help with revision. Times are available on this site and throughout the Chemistry department.

Prelims are fast approaching. Can I remind you all that you are more than welcome to come along to any catch up time for additional help with prelim revision or if you just want to try a past paper. All catch up classes have resumed and times can be found under the ‘information’ tab.

As you are all aware the prelim dates are now out. The Chemistry prelims are listed below:
Wednesday 26th January
Intermediate 2 1.35-3.35 in the Hall (at the front)
Higher 1.05-3.35 in the Hall (at the back)
Advanced Higher 1.05-3.35 in the Hall (at the back)
Wednesday 2nd February
Intermediate 1 1.35-3.05 in the Hall (at the front)
Tuesday 8th February
Standard Grade General 8.35-10.05 in the Hall
Thursday 10th February
Standard Grade Credit 8.35-10.05 in the Hall
Remember to arrive in plenty of time and bring more than one pen and pencil, a rubber, a ruler and a calculator.
Prepare well for exams, do your best and if you need any help see your teacher or come along to one of the supported study times.
