Mr R MacLean, PTC Literacy

I grew up in the Highlands and Islands before studying Media at the University of the West of Scotland and then training as an English teacher. I previously taught at schools in Aberdeenshire and West Lothian before being appointed PTC Literacy at Ross High in 2012.

When I get free time away from school work, I enjoy parking my backside in a comfy cinema seat and escaping into the world of movies.  I’m also a bit of a geek when it comes to technology and can lose hours playing around with gadgets. I’m most likely to be found in the kitchen cooking up a storm and eating.

Quick Questions:

What is the furthest you have been from home?

I travelled to Singapore and Indonesia in 2008 and spent most of my time enjoying the spicy food and trying to get used to the humidity.

What was the last movie you watched?

I’ve just watched the Superman re-boot ‘Man of Steel’. A great update of a classic comic.

Summer or Winter?

Winter. Beautiful crisp mornings can’t be beaten and snow is great in moderation.

Paperback or Kindle?

Both. I love my Kindle when I’m away on holiday as I can have lots of books on the go without carrying them around with me.

What’s your favourite sound?

The sound of a howling gale and rain battering off the window on a really wild night whilst I’m tucked up in bed.
