September 2013 Update
The new term is well underway and there are lots of exciting projects in development in the English department.
We have said goodbye to Miss Mollon and Miss Muir, but we welcome Miss Bradley and Miss Ross to the department.
Our new personal reading scheme ‘Reading for Gold’ has launched for S1-3 pupils and the website will be updated with more details of this shortly. This is a really exciting and challenging award scheme to encourage more personal reading and many of our pupils are already racing through the tasks and enjoying new books.
S4 pupils are now working towards the new National 4 and National 5 qualifications, with our National 5 classes beginning to study the Scottish drama ‘Tally’s Blood’ or the novel ‘The Cone Gatherers’.
We are also planning ahead for National Poetry Day on Thursday 3 October. This year’s theme is ‘Water’.
As well as our website, you can also follow the department Twitter feed @rosshighenglish where we will continue to keep parents and pupils updated on events in the English department.
