As you may or may not be aware, the PE department are trying to raise funds to transform one of our small gym’s into a state of the art Dance & Fitness Studio.
The idea has come about through the pupil voice and the huge demand for dance and fitness based activities in both curricular and extra-curricular. We fully believe that with this facility we will be able to provide immense opportunities for our young people in the Tranent community that at present we are unable to do due to lack of facilities/equipment.
To help raise funds, we have set up our project on a website called Neighbourly.
The link to our project is: https://www.neighbourly.com/projects/5458c9638f60ff0f4cd602b3
We need YOUR help by signing up and FOLLOWING our project. The more followers, the more chance we have of getting funds. We also need you to spread the word around the community and encourage as many people as possible to sign up and follow our project!
We hope you can all take a few minutes of your spare time to support us with this as it is something we feel very passionate about.
If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to phone and ask for a member of the PE department!
Thank you in advance, PE.

Another successful sponsored walk took place on the afternoon of Thursday 12th September. This involved all pupils and staff walk the 5k route. There was an alternative route for some pupils to allow everyone to be involved in the event.
I am delighted to announce that to date the money raised is £6020.02 which will go towards supporting extra-curricular school trips and a suspended timetable which is due to take place in the last week of the summer term. It is not too late for any pupils who are still to bring in their sponsor money – please do this by giving the money and sponsor form to Miss Bennett as soon as possible.
All pupils who returned their sponsor form were entered into a prize draw for a £100 Amazon voucher, which was drawn on Friday 27th September. The winner this year is Daniel in the ASN department. We hope he enjoys spending it!
