Get Involved

You know your child better than anyone else, and your views on their education really do matter. By getting involved in the Parent Council you are helping form a link between the school and parents. The school want to hear parents’ viewpoints, and by joining the Parent Council you are helping put forward the parent voice. We represent all parents and we work with the school. Together we can make improvements for all pupils.

You don’t need to come to all meetings – parents are welcome to attend as many or as few as they would like. It’s a great way to find out more about what’s happening in school and the reasons behind it. Meetings are really positive and all views are welcome. Come along – see what we do.

Every year we hold our Annual General Meeting in September, and that’s when roles and responsibilites are allocated. We have a constitution which says we need a Chair, a Vice Chair, and a Treasurer. As well as the office-bearers, we have year group representatives.  The Head Teacher is present at all PC meetings, and usually another staff member, as well as various councillors. But you don’t have to take on a formal role to be involved – just coming along means you’re contributing.
