About Ross High PE Department

Ross High has traditionally been a school where sport and physical activity has been central to each pupil’s learning.  The Ross High PE department have clear aims and objectives to deliver an active, meaningful curriculum which promotes health and wellbeing in each pupil.  Each young person has the chance to experience a wide range of PE courses and physical activities from S1-S6.  The dedicated PE team are committed to delivering high quality Physical Education (for information on PE click the sub section link) for every pupil whilst also providing a comprehensive extra-curricular programme.  From this programme Ross High  is able to compete in various sports (for more information on extra-curricular clubs / teams click on the sub section link).

Within the PE department there is the expectation that every pupil will exceed their own expectations and fulfil their potential whilst learning in their PE class. Each pupil is required to enter the PE department with their PE kit and an enthusiastic attitude which will enable them to gain the best possible learning experience in each class.

Kit required for Physical Education

The following guidelines should be adhered to for all PE classes:
1)    Clothing should be comfortable and practical.
2)    Warm sports clothing should be worn for outdoor activities.
3)    Sports clothing should not advertise alcohol or drink related products.
4)    Pupils should change before and after PE. They should not go to other classesor leave the school woith their kit on.
5)    Pupils should bring a note explaining any reason for missing PE kit on medical grounds.
6)   Pupils should wear black bottoms and a white top.
