‘Ross Rocks Reading’ challenge underway at Ross High

October 31st, 2014 by

Ross Rocks ReadingFrom Monday, all pupils at Ross High School are starting a 25 week reading challenge as part of ‘Ross Rocks Reading’.

The aim of ‘Ross Rocks Reading’ is to encourage more personal reading and discussion of reading amongst pupils, staff, parents and the wider community in the Tranent cluster.

The challenge for pupils is to read at home for at least 20 minutes, 3 times a week.

Pupils will be issued with a record sheet which they should complete on a weekly basis. The amount of time spent reading should then be recorded in the record sheet and this should then be signed by a parent/carer.

The record sheet must be brought to Registration every Friday. Each week pupils can earn 5 House points for completing the challenge.

Prizes will be awarded every 5 weeks and the first prize to work towards is a bright orange and green ‘Ross Rocks Reading’ lanyard!
