Ross Rocks Reading

The Chinese Zodiac Story

February 23rd, 2015 by

The pupils in Primary 6 at St Martin’s primary found a story in their Ross Rocks Reading swap shop. The story was about Chinese New Year. They wanted to find out more about the ancient legend and the Zodiac race. Today, they retold the story through the use of shadow puppets. They chose a character from the story to make. They made a cat, a dog, a dragon, the Jade Emperor, the ox and the sheep. They used the whiteboard to create the shadows and make their characters come to life.
It’s amazing what books you can find in the Ross Rocks Reading boxes! If it wasn’t for someone donating that book we wouldn’t have learned what we did today!

Keep donating those books so that we can create more exciting learning experiences!
