Welcome to the World of Norm- Jonathan Meres visits Primary 4s!
March 4th, 2015 by kpearce
World of Norm author Jonathan Meres visited Sanderson’s Wynd Primary today for an energetic talk to Primary 4s from all over the Ross High Cluster. The exciting event was part of Ross Rocks Reading and was attendend by 225 pupils from 7 primary schools, including Saltoun, Humbie, Pencaitland, Macmerry, Windygoul, St. Martin’s and Sanderson’s Wynd.
After entertaining pupils with his rich sense of humour, Jonathan introduced Norm to pupils, emphasizing that he’s a character they can relate to. He also read a funny chapter (which he likes to call Chapter 12) from his latest book, The World of Norm: Must Be Washed Separately.
Pupils were able to ask Jonathan questions about being an author before finally having their books signed by him.

RRR Book Lending Stations
December 14th, 2014 by kpearce
Book lending stations have appeared in several locations throughout the Ross Cluster now. In Macmerry you can borrow and exchange books at the Butcher’s. There is another lending station at the Winton Arms in Pencaitland. In Tranent there are lending stations at Bissett and Steedman, the library, Meadowmill Sports Centre and Recharge. We are very grateful to all of these businesses and groups for supporting our reading initiative!
