Dynamic Earth and Kiana’s Mum

Our trip to Dynamic Earth was a huge success! The pupils had a fantastic tutor called Jenna, who was really enthusiastic and keen.  We learned amazing facts about insects that live in the rainforest and also we went on an imaginary journey to the North Pole.

A huge thank you to Kiana’s Mum who came in to chat with our children.  She shared her experiences of visiting the Rainforest.  She brought Dom with her and lots of photograph.

K’nex Challenge

Last week Jim and Bob came in to work with P4/5/6/7. They wanted to work with the class on construction. P4/5 worked with lego, P6 took part in the fisrt stage of the K’nex challenge and P7 worked with an electrical form of construction – snap n fix. It was a very successful morning, which all of the children enjoyed.Isla and Daisy were chosen to represent Saltoun at the next stage of the K’nex competition. Well done!

P7 Football Tournament.

Last Tuesday our primary 7s were invited to Ross High School to take part in a football tournament along with other schools in our cluster. We started the tournament very well and I can see we have a few potential football stars amongst us! After the football we were invited to watch some of the 4th year girls perform a dance routine. It was great! P7 feel that this was a great opportunity to meet some of the children they will be at High School with next year and would like to thank class 4B2 for inviting them.

Woosh Drama!

Last Tuesday Miss Brown and Shonagh took us for our first Woosh drama class. We started with a few warm ups and discovered that there are a few futureactors/actresses in our class! We discussed what we would like to achieve through our drama club and decided that we would like to make up our own drama as well as act out some ready made scenes. In groups we created two characters and made up lots of facts about them. This was done in secret and all will be revealed at tomorrows session….we can’t wait!!
