Thank you also for buying our crafts. Combined with the money donated after Carol Singing, we have raised £140 for Shelter. Well done everyone!
Thomas and Robbie have had some special visitors! Their Mamgu and Datcu have arrived to spend Christmas in Singapore. The boys took them to visit the Zoo, where Mamgu kissed……a sea lion! The whole family also went to see the Singapore Slingers basketball team play at the weekend.
Have a very Merry Christmas boys! Keep in touch.
Just a reminder that it is the Winter Show tomorrow morning in the Village Hall. The show starts at 9.30am and afterwards there will be coffee, homebaking and a raffle back at the school. This is being provided by H2H. Pupils will also be selling some homemade crafts that might make useful stocking fillers, if you haven’t finished your Christmas shopping yet!
Thank you to all those who came Carol Singing on Monday evening. It was really enjoyable and the pupils were proud to sing their songs. The format of the evening was slightly different to previous years but we did receive some very positive feedback. Most parents seemed to welcome coming back to the school for wine and mince pies. We take on board that perhaps we could have sung more carols around the village, which we will do next year! Mrs Birrell

On Tuesday P1/2 were visited by the fire brigade as part of our ‘People Who Help Us’ topic. First they showed us a dvd and talked to us about fire safety. Next Miss Brown had to dress up as a fire lady. She said the uniform was very warm and heavy (it was a struggle to get up the stairs!). After this we were allowed to go out and see the fire engine. We learned about all the equipment and we even got to go inside. Some of us put the siren and the lights on 🙂 We are glad the firefighters came to see us because we were able to share what we have been learning in the classroom with them, and learn lots more about the fire brigade.
This week the boys have been very busy!
They have visited an island called Sentosa, which is at the south of Singapore. At Sentosa, they went on a luge and a skyride. They have also visited their new school and made some new friends.
Thomas and Robbie have been to a book festival and a sports show, as it was the Singapore Marathon, and this weekend they are off to the zoo.
Thomas would like to thank Mrs Ritchie and Miss Mitchell for his birthday email!

Saltoun Christmas Post service starts on Monday 7th December. If pupils have cards to send to friends in the school, they can pop them in the Post Box (in the lower corridor) and the post will be sorted and delivered by our Post People on a daily basis!
We are off to the Panto on Thursday 10th December, leaving at 12 noon. Pupils will need to bring a packed lunch, to be eaten in the lunch room at the Kings Theatre. You may wish to include a snack and drink for the interval. We should be back to school about 5 – 5.30pm.
P3-4 are taking part in a cluster reading group and there are two groups. The Cool Club (Naomi, Millie and Euan) and the Reading Dinosaurs (Felix, Kiana, Ross and Gabriel.) The Cool Club are reading Mr Majeika by Humphrey Carpenter and The Reading Dinosaurs are reading The Hodgeheg by Dick-King Smith. When we are reading it is fun and we always want to find out what happens next. Gabriel thinks it is a great idea as it is getting everyone to enjoy reading.
