Picture Perfect!

We think that our picture frames are fabulous.  P3 – 7  made them using sticks and string.  We learned how to tie good knots and extraordinarily hard knots.  We have used our frames to display our Forest School photographs in the library.

Successful Saltoun Students!

We have heard great news that we would like to share with everyone!  Steven and Isla who left us in July, to start at Knox Academy, have been runners up in an International Literacy Day competition.  We would like to pass on our congratulations.  This is an amazing achievement as there are 143 pupils in S1.  They received certificates at a presentation ceremony. Well done star writers!! Hopefully we will be able to read your short stories soon.

P3-P7 Camp Out in Saltoun Big Wood

What a time was had by all!  With the help of Martyn Pegg from Outdoor Education and members of Saltoun staff the children enjoyed an overnight camp in the woods.  This was to kick start the resumption of Forest Schools.  The children cooked their tea on a campfire – nice menu – Quesidillas followed by Quorn Chicken Stir Fry and finished off with popcorn and marshmallows.  Most of the children slept in hammocks slung from trees.    The children came back to school in the morning where they had bacon and eggs (provided by the school chickens).

Thank you to Martyn for these photographs
