Arran Johnston’s Jacobite visit

On Monday p5\6\7 had a surprise, it was a visitor. He was called Arran Johnston. He was dressed up as a Jacobite because our topic is the Jacobites. When he came in he brought a real sword, a real musket and a real horse pistol. He also brought the musket and buckshot balls.
I learned that the Jacobites didn’t have any guns at the beginning but they took lots from the Redcoats when they defeated them at the Battle of Prestonpans.
I thought it was extremely cool and scary at the same time – the thought of having a gun in the room. But all in all I loved it, all of it!

  1. It was great to hear all about this visitor – in your post and also with even more detail at home . It certainly sounds like Arran brought history to life for you all which was brilliant. I’m sure you will all enjoy your topic.
