Craft Bombing of Saltoun

Children from all classes recently decided to take action to brighten up their village. Lee suggested that they take part in Voluntary Arts Scotland’s week of celebrating craft by “Craft Bombing” the village. With support from staff and parents a plan was hatched to weave, chalk and decorate. On Friday 9th May children headed out into the village armed with fabric, chalks and pictures. The school walls and bus stop were graffitied with chalk drawings; butterfly and insect pictures were attached to fencing and strips of brightly coloured fabric were woven through railings. The vivid displays have attracted a lot of attention from the local community and all the children have asked to do it again even bigger next year.

Lockerbie Manor Camp

On Friday the 9th of May, P4/5/6 left for Lockerbie Manor. The journey took two and a half hours. When we got there we had a fire drill. Then we did the activities. The food was amazing!!!!. We did abseiling, archery, shooting with pellet rifles, climbing, compass work, orienteering, canoeing, zipwire and a disco. The dorms were luxury:). It was really good fun. The journey home took two and a half hours. When we got home some of us ran to our parents:). By Dylan Allen
