From January, every child at a local council school can get free school lunches during term-time in primary 1 to 5. This applies to all children in these years – your family’s financial circumstances do not matter.
As you may be aware from the news, a more precautionary approach is currently being taken for the new variant of COVID-19 ‘Omicron’, until more information is gathered about this variant. Therefore, this may mean a change in the way that the ‘close contacts’ of people who test positive for the new variant are identified, and what advice is given to them. Please pay attention to any updates from the school, and check the NHS inform website (https://www.nhsinform.scot/illnesses-and-conditions/infections-and-poisoning/coronavirus-covid-19/test-and-protect/coronavirus-covid-19-guidance-for-households-with-possible-coronavirus-infection) for more information.

This weekend 4th and 5th December 2021, enjoyleisure intend to hold a “Donation Day”, where we will be encouraging customers to donate either toys or food donations instead of a standard swim admission fee. Each of enjoy’s sports centres will be actively collecting donations.
The council is sharing detailed information on its school buildings with a new website giving a full picture of its estate at individual school, cluster and East Lothian level.
The website – www.eastlothian.gov.uk/ler – brings together information on the condition, suitability and capacity of existing schools and the council is keen to hear the views of families, communities and learners.
This is part of the development of a Learning Estate Investment Plan for East Lothian. The plan will set out the council’s investment priorities for its schools to make sure that all facilities support high quality teaching and learning equally across the county, and to outline the investment needed for this to happen. It will also consider how school buildings support community use.
To share your feedback you can:
The feedback will be analysed alongside the results of the online questionnaire that was held in February and presented at a future council meeting. For more information, including dates of event in your area and a link to the questionnaire, visit www.eastlothian.gov.uk/ler
The pre-consultation will close on 10 December 2021.
The P1 enrolment for August 2022 is now open and closes on 29th November 2021.
