November Newsletter – sent by email to all parents

Please find attached our school newsletter for November 2023. With winter weather, can we ask all parents to pop in a pair of indoor shoes and a change of clothing in school bag or in a separate bag that can be left on their peg. Indoor shoes don’t need be anything special or fancy, old trainers or gym shoes will do. If this could be sent in on Monday if possible especially with the wet and cold winter ahead.

Have a great weekend.

Scarlet Fever – important update

Good Morning,

We have unfortunately had several cases of scarlet fever across the school. We have confirmed cases in Primary 2, 3 and in P5/6. We have been advised by the Lothian health protection team to share that attached information leaflet. As with most infections the key is exceptional handwashing and not spreading germs. We would like to take this opportunity to remind you that if your child is absent due to vomiting or diarrhoea they must remain off until they have been clear from both for 48 hours. The 48 hours clear rule also applies to absences involving a fever.

If you are concerned about the wellbeing of your child, you should go directly to your GP or NHS 24 (111).

Helpful information is available on NHS Inform: https://www.nhsinform.scot/illnesses-and-conditions/infections-and-poisoning/scarlet-fever/

Thank you in advance for all your support.

Judo Taster

Attention all primary 1 to Primary 4 – Judo taster sessions.

Tomorrow we are welcoming active schools and there Judo club partner to the school to demonstrate some basic Judo. The pupils will be then offered information on where they can do more if it something they would enjoy.

Mr Peppers Primary 3 class will be the first class attending at 09.00

Please can we ask all pupils to have on either trousers (joggers) or leggings and a T shirt?  The club will provide judo jackets for all the children. I believe the children will be asked to change into their bare feet too.

If for any reason you don’t not wish your child to take part, please let your child’s teacher know in the morning.
