Playground Safety Letter
PLAYGROUND SAFETY
Dear Parent/Carer,
We have noticed that a large number of children are bringing lollipops and boiled sweeties into school as part of their snack/packed lunch and are eating these in the playground at break time. Our playground is a very busy and active space and that, combined with the lollipops and boiled sweets, is creating a serious safety concern.
We are worried that this is going to lead to a choking incident and would ask for your support in not sending your child to school with lollipops or hard sweeties. We have adult supervision in every zone of our playground but staff cannot monitor what everyone has for a snack.
If you have an older child who chooses their own snack on the way to school please speak with them about what they are choosing to bring and highlight the dangers of running around with these types of sweets.
We would like to thank you for your support in keeping everyone in our school safe! If you have any questions please feel free to get in touch.
Yours Sincerely,
Lynsey Blair
Head Teacher
