News Release: Consultation on new development plan

East Lothian Council is seeking the views of residents and others on future land-use and development in East Lothian as it prepares a new Local Development Plan.

The plan will eventually replace the East Lothian Local Plan 2008.

Councillor Barry Turner, the Council’s planning spokesman said: “The Council is interested in hearing the views of everyone with an interest in East Lothian. Book Week Competition

As part of Book Week 2012 (5th – 9th March), the school will set up a book fair for pupils to choose and purchase books from. We have taken into account feedback from parents and pupils and this year, instead of using Travelling Books, we have decided to use Scotia Books instead. The advantage of organising the book sales through Scotia is that pupils will be able to decide which books to sell at the fair. We are looking for five or six pupils from P1 – P7 to go to Glasgow to select the books on Wednesday 22nd February. They will be chosen from the winners of two competitions. Transport will be organised and there will be no cost to parents. Pupils will be accompanied by school staff and lunch will be provided by Scotia Books. The pupils chosen will be the winners of this competition so …
GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE WHO CHOOSES TO TAKE PART!
Closing Date for entries: Friday 10th February in the pocket on the DHT office door

Plastic Bottle Greenhouse Repairs

Unfortunately our plastic bottle greenhouse in the school courtyard suffered wind damage over the Christmas holidays. Mr. Clelland has very kindly offered to repair it and the work is already underway. We are in need of more 2 litre plastic bottles to complete the work. Donations of clean, rinsed out 2 litre bottles with labels already removed would be greatly appreciated!
