In Primary 4/5 we have had great fun this term, learning what life was like in ancient Egypt.
From Pharaohs to Pyramids, Gods to Hieroglyphics, Farming to Mummification, we have learned in lots of different ways, some of which can be seen in our slideshow.
It certainly has been a busy time for fundraising, but P6/7 didn’t want to let Comic Relief 2011 pass by without a mention. They independently planned a series of fundraising events from popcorn selling, a raffle, cake stalls and lucky dips, giving up their break times to man the stalls.
Their efforts raised an amazing £156.56 for Comic Relief!!
Well done P6/7!!!
Congratulations to everyone for the fabulous result to our Purple Pinkie day! The Rotary Club came back to our assembly this week to say a special thank you to everyone for supporting their work. Hannah and Melissa deserve a special thank you for boosting the fundraising with their homebaking stall.
Here’s a maths question for you…
We raised just over £ 141.00 for the vaccinations to help eradicate Polio in the world. Each vaccine costs 20p. How many children have we helped protect from this awful disease?
Now, Microsoft Tycoon Bill Gates and his wife have promised to give £1.50 for every £1.00 that we raise. So…
How many children have been helped altogether?
First pupil to give Mrs. McHugh the correct answer can choose from her lucky bag.
At last! The beautiful weather has dried out the grass and we can try something new for our warm-up!

What a great effort Primary One – and a special thank you to your parents and carers!
We had a very colourful classroom on World Book Day, full of exciting characters. We nearly got taken over by stormtroopers. Mind you, I think the knights would have had something to say about that!
We had a very interesting morning talking about the authors who wrote our favourite books and why the stories were special to us. It was great fun to see what other people liked to read too.
