We learned about the history of Scotland’s ‘Stone of Destiny’ and why it is an important symbol for Scotland.
Scott drew this picture of the Coronation throne from memory. You can see the stone under the chair. In this country when a King or Queen is crowned, they sit on this throne at Westminster Abbey.
For the rest of the time, it is kept at Edinburgh Castle.
In our I.T lessons we have been looking at ‘talking text’ We have to write first what it is we want to say, then the text is given a voice. Here is a clip Ava decided to make, especially for our website.
Molly made this clip, imagining a phone conversation someone might have made after the announcement that there was going to be a Second World War.
Before Christmas, we made Lauren-Child inspired pictures in one of our I.T lessons. Mrs Stewart wrote to her, asking Lauren if she had time to have a look at our Cinderella slideshow on the school website. This week, the class were delighted to receive a letter from her, saying she had looked at our pictures and was very impressed with them, and pleased that she had inspired the children to create them.
Primary 1/2 came to our P5/6 class to record a Scottish song we sang at the Burns Supper.
The boys and girls from P5/6 were singing the questions and the P1/2 boys and girls replied. Great teamwork!
Click the green arrow to hear our song.
Today we recited our poems to the class. Everyone in the class, (including the adults!) got the chance to vote. We had to decide once we had heard each poem, whether it was worth 1, 2 or 3 points and put our vote into the correct bag. Some of our class were in charge of the counting of the votes – they had to be good at their 2 and 3 times tables!!!
