We were very lucky to have Mrs Overmeer’s husband, who is an architect, come to visit us recently, to talk about the work of an architect. As part of our preparations for our Christmas Fair, (and also to coincide with St. Andrew’s Day), the boys and girls used a computer program, www.tartanmaker.com to create their own tartan. First of all, they selected 4 coloured beads, then selected colours on tartan maker which would match well. We could then play about with the features to create a design we were happy with. We have used our designs to make keyrings to sell at the Christmas Fair.
We have been exploring different type of ships and their uses, by researching information from the internet and reference books.
We have been linking our topic into our imaginative writing as well as letter writing. We are currently writing a very important letter, (a message in a bottle!)
P2/3 have been working hard making skeletons. The Primary 3 children have added pelvises, arms and legs so far.
The Primary 2 children are nearly ready to paint their skulls. We hope to be finished by Christmas.
We are working hard at the moment learning the songs for Hosanna Rock, our Christmas production.
We are also making lots of items to sell at the Christmas Fair on the 7th of December.
Primary 1/2 have been very busy this term. The children have been making the most of the days with no rain, to go outside and do some measuring. Here’s what they’ve been up to……
