Last Thursday, Stenton Primary children held a French café in Stenton village hall. The children welcomed parents, grandparents, community members, members of Innerwick parent council, French twinning association members and a journalist from East Lothian Courier – over 60 guests in total!
The children showed guests to their table, took orders and performed songs – all in French. Guests were treated to a selection of hot drinks and French style treats such as croissants, baguettes, cheeses and pain au chocolat. All the food and drink was very kindly donated by Tesco at Haddington and the Co-op at East Linton.
All the guests made donations to charity which came to a total of over £260! We will be splitting the funds between the homeless charity Social Bite and the World Wildlife Fund. Thank you so much to everyone for their support – we were overwhelmed by the turnout and the amount raised.
