Primary 1 had a fantastic visit to the new library in Tranent this morning. We heard some wonderful stories and learned more about the library. We will definitely go back for a visit soon. Miss McKay has forms for membership to the library so if anyone is interested… just ask. :0)
Good afternoon from P1 at St. Martin’s. We are so happy that the website is back up and running. We are looking forward to sharing all of the hard work we have been doing already in P1 and we are looking forward to hearing about other classes news too.
It has been an extremely busy week in P2 this week. We have been learning about verbs, housing schedules people use when selling their houses and we have been continuing our work on money in maths. We have also been working hard in preparation for World Maths Day next week.
And the news you have all been waiting for…Here are the Golden Writers this week:
Niall, Anya, Sophie and Kyle
A big well done to all four of you for using such excellent describing words in your pieces of writing!

Primary 2 had a wonderful time this morning. We went to Room 7 to hear some Scottish stories, told by a professional storyteller. We loved hearing about Molly who wasn’t scared of anything (well nearly) and Rognar who wore furry trousers to fend off a fierce dragon. They called him Rognar Hairy Breeks! It was so funny.

In P2 this week we were writing about our favourite part of the February break. The standard of writing was excellent but as usual, I had to choose the 4 best. Here are the Golden Writers this week:
Finlay, Josh L, Amy and Kieran
A big well done to all four of you!

At the curriculum evening last night I showed parents various websites that P2 use in class. I promised I would put these on the website as they are not always easy to access. Here they are:
The children have been sent home with usernames and passwords today for practising for World Maths Day on 7th March 2012. The website is as follows:
I hope that you find all these websites useful! I hope that everyone has a restful holiday when it comes.

I am absolutely delighted to see the St. Martin’s website looking so great! It is much more personal to the school now! Well done to the Communication Reps and Miss Monk.
