To give everyone the opportunity to meet the teachers of St. Martin’s we are holding a ‘Meet the Teacher’ workshop. This involves teachers giving you a little presentation about themselves and information about the school week in relation to their specific class. It is a great opportunity for parents/carers and family members to learn more about the daily routines, weekly timetable and expectations that are set for your children in terms of homework and behaviour.
Each teacher will present 2 workshops to allow as many people to attend as possible. The second workshop is a repeat of the first.
Workshop 1 – 6.30 – 7pm
Workshop 2 – 7.00pm – 7.30pm
There will also be an opportunity for you to ask the teacher questions. Please support us in teaching your child by coming along and spending time finding out about your child’s life at school. It is evenings like these that make the difference in helping your child reach their full potential academically, socially and emotionally.
Please return the slip to the class teacher or the school office.
Welcome back today to one and all!
We would like to welcome back all familiar faces to St Martin’s as well as some new faces that are joining our St Martin’s family.
A BIG welcome to Miss Gladman in Primary 3, Mr Conroy in Primary 6 and Miss Watt in Primary 7. I know that all of our pupils will make them feel welcomed into our St Martin’s family.
Please follow our school website for information about school events, letters, class news, class Friday reflections and for homework information on Mondays.
Please also follow us on TWITTER at @StMartinsRCPS
I recently spoke with Adam Martin our Active Schools co-ordinator following feedback from parents/carers about the limited range of classes for nursery age children. The nursery courses are really provided as a courtesy as the Active School Programme is really for children from P1 to P7. He would be happy to help you to link up with contacts in a range of different sports clubs in the area to help meet your children’s needs and interests.
Please feel free to contact him by email: email@example.com
In the Nursery cloakroom area you will find the children’s big learning book. Please feel free to have a look to see what the children are asking questions about and leave a little comment so that we can share this with the children.
We also welcome your suggestions for improvement and comments about what you like about our nursery. Please give us this feedback so that we are able to effect the change that you want to see happen.
Next to our big learning book we also have slips for you to fill in to either compliment or complain about an aspect of the service that we provide. You are our service users and we appreciate all the feedback that you are able to provide us with. There is an available box for you to post your responses. You can write your name on the comment/suggestion slip etc if you wish but if you would rather leave it anonymously then please do.
See you tonight at the ‘Meet the Teacher’ open evening.
Mrs McDonald and Ms Stewart
Welcome back! A very warm welcome to our new pupils, parents and carers. We are looking forward to an exciting new year and getting to know everyone. Our topic of harvest will be continuing for the next two weeks. We are already looking forward to learning about:- the breadmaking process; the crops in the fields; how machines help the farmer and what jobs a farmer does at this time of year.
We are looking forward to some fun learning.
