Last week, on Thursday, 15 December, the whole school had a panto afternoon. The Nursery, Primary 1, Primary 2 and Primary 3 enjoyed a production of ‘The Wizard of Oz’ in the the school hall. Some bits were scary but it was fun all the same.
Primary 4 and 5 travelled to the Brunton Theatre in Musselburgh to see ‘Aladdin’. It was very funny and we even saw two of the Primary 4 boys on stage dancing. They were really good!
Primary 6 and 7 went to the King’s Theatre in Edinburgh to see ‘Cinderella’. Both classes had a great time and were amazed at the fantastic costumes and scenery.
Wonder what the panto will be next year?
Happy Christmas to everyone at St. Martin’s. Have a lovely holiday and I hope you all get the present you ask for. Be kind to your families and friends and try to be helpful at this very busy time of the year. On Christmas Day try to say a prayer to the Baby Jesus to help those people who may be feeling sad or lonely.
See you all in January. Happy New Year 2012!!!! From Mrs Sharp X
Congratulations to Primary 1,2 and 3. Your Nativity Play in St. Martin’s Church certainly deserved 10 out of 10. It was brilliant! You made everyone who saw you feel very happy. I loved every bit of it. Not long till Christmas now. Hope you all have a great holiday and a very happy and holy time.
Primary 1 have been planting seeds. We worked in pairs to add compost, the seed and some water. Over this term, we will watch the seeds grow and plant them in our garden.
These plants are called “Little Leos.”
I wonder what they will look like? We will keep you all posted with news and photos!
Primary 1 have been looking out for the signs of Spring.
Last week, we saw daffodils, bluebell shoots and crocuses
in our school garden.
Some pupils helped Mrs. McDonald to plant some pansies.
Let’s hope the sun comes out again soon!!
This is a reminder for all P1, P2 and P3 parents/guardians who would like to come along to the classroom on Monday 10th May at 1.30pm – 2.15pm to join in with a reading lesson.
You will have the opportunity to see how your child learns to read, you may even get some tips that you can try at home with your child!
Please fill in the slip that your child will come home with today and return it to your child’s class teacher by Friday 7th May.
If you have already attended a session but would to come along to another then please fill in the slip and we’ll see what we can do. Perhaps mum has come before but dad would like the opportunity to come then don’t hesitate to ask. Places will be given on a first come first served basis.
I’ll be in touch to let you know if you have a place.
Miss S Gilhooly
The next reading session that will take place in P1, P2 and P3 classrooms will be on Tuesday the 4th of May at 9.00 am to 9.45 am.
