P.1,2,3 Golden Time

Primary 1,2 and 3 really enjoyed the new Golden Time today. The pupils in each class had the opportunity to go into a different classroom to do activities with pupils from other classes. In the P.3 room they had fun playing board games, whiteboard games and doing jigsaws. It was fun playing together and the P.3’s enjoyed helping the younger boys and girls with some tricky jigsaws.

Happy New Year!

Primary 2 and Miss McKay would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year!

We have had a wonderful start to the new year and we are looking forward to all of the exciting things in store for us this term in P2.

Today, we enjoyed discussing and writing about our goals for the term.

A big well done from Miss McKay to P2! You’ve had a great start!

All the Pantos!!!!

Last week, on Thursday, 15 December, the whole school had a panto afternoon. The Nursery, Primary 1, Primary 2 and Primary 3 enjoyed a production of ‘The Wizard of Oz’ in the the school hall. Some bits were scary but it was fun all the same.
Primary 4 and 5 travelled to the Brunton Theatre in Musselburgh to see ‘Aladdin’. It was very funny and we even saw two of the Primary 4 boys on stage dancing. They were really good!
Primary 6 and 7 went to the King’s Theatre in Edinburgh to see ‘Cinderella’. Both classes had a great time and were amazed at the fantastic costumes and scenery.
Wonder what the panto will be next year?

Happy Christmas

Happy Christmas to everyone at St. Martin’s. Have a lovely holiday and I hope you all get the present you ask for. Be kind to your families and friends and try to be helpful at this very busy time of the year. On Christmas Day try to say a prayer to the Baby Jesus to help those people who may be feeling sad or lonely.
See you all in January. Happy New Year 2012!!!! From Mrs Sharp X

Good morning Primary 2

Good morning Primary 2,

I hope you are all enjoying the snow and that you have been able to build some lovely snowmen! However, I think some of you may be a little bored by now. Why not try some Maths and Literacy games on www.ictgames.com? I’m sure you will be able to show everyone at home how it works.

You could also complete your reading books and practise your common words. If you still have time after all that, could you please make a list of all of the technology you use in your home eg. hoover, washing machine etc? This will help your work when you return to school.

Finally, a little challenge. Miss McKay left Prestonpans for school yesterday morning at 7.30am. What time do you think she arrived at school? The closest guess may get a prize!

Stay safe and see you all soon,

Miss McKay
