School Mass
Today the whole school attended mass at St. Martin’s Church for the first time this term.
Primary 6 were given the important responsibility of doing the readings from the Bible, leading the bidding prayers and taking up the bread and wine in the Offertory Procession. Even the altar servers were Primary 6 pupils!
All of these duties were carried out with great respect and devotion. As the class teacher of Primary 6 for the last few weeks, I would like them all to know how proud I felt today. Well done Rhys, Courtney, Tyler, Ryan, Sophie, Liam, John, Elle, Amy, Rebecca, Aysa, Christopher, Ronan, Katey, Oliver and Saul! You were great!!!
We have made the online news!!!

Preparing for the Sacraments of Confirmation and Holy Eucharist – March 3rd, 2013
A Message from Michael McGrath – Scottish Catholic Education Service(SCES)
SCES are keen to hear your views on the materials provided this year for Catholic Education Week 2013 . Hearing the views of teachers, parents, clergy and young people will help to develop the
approach for future years. It would be most helpful if you could encourage teachers, parents, clergy and pupils to complete the short on-line evaluation which is available directly on the SCES website or by using this link: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/L5W8WSS
Mrs McDonald’s NEW Page!!!
Mrs McDonald’s HT page has been taken off the front page of the website. It will now be allocated on the right hand side of the screen under “Mrs McDonald’s Head Teacher BLOG.”
Keep up to date with Mrs McDonald’s posts using this category.
Lent: What are you doing?
Ash Wednesday marked the beginning of Lent 2013.
What have you decided to do to show your preparation for Easter and your commitment to your faith?
Use this picture to think about what you are going to give, fast from, prepare for and when are you going to pray?
Try to collect a SCIAF ‘wee box’ from church and start by ‘giving’ some small change to our school charity during Lent, The Scottish Catholic International Aid Fund.
Preparing for Reconciliation

Catholic Education Week – 3rd to 9th February 2013
In school this week all classes have been working on posters to display in St. Martin’s Church during Catholic Education Week. Primary 4- 7 have been thinking about growing in faith by looking more closely at the words of the Nicene Creed. Primary 1-3 have looked at some of the miracles of Jesus and have been thinking about how special Jesus is. We hope Father Jim and the people of the parish enjoy looking at our posters and reading their very important messages of faith.
“There is nothing more beautiful than to be surprised by the Gospel, by the encounter with Christ. There is nothing more beautiful than to know Him and to speak to others of our friendship with Him.”
Pope Benedict XVI
Sacramental Preparation Timetable
As the website is now functional again I thought parents/guardians of Primary 3 and Primary 4 might find it useful to have a copy of these dates. Paper copies have already been given out but I know they often get mislaid. Next meeting for P.3 parents is next Tuesday, 5th February.
