Primary 7 thoroughly enjoyed participating in the performance of Burke and Hare last week!  We hope you enjoyed watching it, we have had some fantastic comments and feedback about the show.

In class P7B have been working hard on their IDEA- Lights, Camera, Action!  This weeks challenge is to design a 1930’s inspired cinema. We began with developing designs for the facade and inside and then each group had to provide a sales pitch in order to earn resources to build it!  The results are coming together and we look forward to seeing the finished models.

Happy New Year!

Primary 7B have had a great first week back! We have been very busy planning our new IDEA- Scotland the Brave.  We have some fantastic ideas and questions including How did Scotland get its name?  Why is the Scottish symbol the thistle? How did the flag design originate? We would like to research famous Scots, make models of Edinburgh Castle and find out about Scottish history.

This week we began the topic by writing about My Scotland. We discussed the things we love most about Scotland, the people, football, Edinburgh and Irn Bru to name a few! The least popular thing about Scotland seemed to be the weather!

To follow our writing, we created artwork inspired by Scotland and have some beautiful drawings and paintings of Scottish Highlands, thistles and even Scottish football stadiums.

In Maths this week we have focussed on revision of Multiplication and Division and have also worked on Time, calculating time durations and using 12 and 24 hour clock.

Next week we look forward to continuing our IDEA, exploring Scottish poetry and learning about Scottish artists.
