Date: Tuesday 11th October

Time: 9.15am – 4.30pm

Venue: Liberton Hospital (Function room), 113 Lasswade Road, Edinburgh EH16 6UB

Cost: Free to participants

Course Aims: To enable workers to gain an insight into the key issues relating to young people’s tobacco use, and to consider how both tobacco prevention and cessation can be delivered to young people.

Previous course participants

Learning outcomes: participants will have an opportunity to:

• learn about approaches to smoking prevention including examples of practical exercise to use in working with young people
• develop skills in providing stop smoking support to young people in brief/opportunistic settings

Participants: this course is suitable for staff from a range of agencies such as High schools, community learning & development, youth work and NHS settings, who are looking for an introduction to working on tobacco issues with young people
