Primary 4/5 – 2013-14

Primary 4/5 recently worked with local company D fie foe to create the short film “John Muir – An animated life” A mini masterpiece which is funny, informative, touching – and all based on real events from John Muir’s life. In May there were two packed screenings at the Brunton Theatre: one by-invitation-only with red carpet, press photographer, and VIP passes, as well as a public screening. The film is now live on Vimeo – do take a look!

P4/5 Animations

P4/5 took part in an interdisciplinary project that allowed them to create some animations. First they had to write a story in Scots then create some artwork and characters for their scenery. They had to work together to animate and bring their stories to life. Well done for your hard work primary 4/5!

We were given a quiz to complete which we all enjoyed and then we were given a small snack too. It was a really enjoyable visit. Please ask your child about it!

We then carried out an experiment called “An Exploding Volcano”. We mixed baking soda with vinegar, red food colouring and fairy liquid and watched it bubble up just like a lava flow!
