We visited the Royal Botanic Gardens, Edinburgh to look for ingredients for our mincemeat. We had to look very closely in the Greenhouses and found plants and fruits to smell and touch and taste. We then made our own mincemeat and put it into jars to take home in our Christmas decorated bags.
The Blue Class went on a Fairtrade hunt in the courtyard, looking for Fairtrade items. They shopped for Fairtrade ingredients to make their delicious banana and chocolate flapjacks, with help from their P2 buddies.

To celebrate Burn’s day we held a ceilidh on Friday 25th January. Pupils from P3W joined us for the dancing and celebrations. The dances included Mrs Burrell’s Jig, the Meadowpark Reel as well as the Gay Gordon’s and the Prince of Orange. We joined in with the fiddle playing of Mhairi’s Wedding and the Skye Boat Song. Afterwards we had shortbread in the Blue Room.
