Thank you to everyone who attended our Summer Event on Monday. It was good to see so many family and friends.
Our theme this year term was Sustainability and our event had a re-cycling theme to it. With the help of Susheila we made recycled instruments – drums made from drain pipes and large tins, shakers made from bottles, rainmakers from cardboard tubes and xylophones made from glass bottles. Our Primary 5 buddies joined us as well as Primary 7 pupils to form our ‘Rubbish Band’.
There was lots of singing and dancing and even a surprise Womble visitor.
This was also Beth Shand’s last performance as she retires at the end of June and we wish her well.
We have been busy making recycled instruments as part of our focus on sustainability. With the help of Susheila, each class along with their P5 buddies have been making shakers from plastic bottles, drums from plastic drain pipes, rain makers from cardboard tubes and xylophones from glass bottles. We showed off our instruments at our Summer Event which featured our Rubbish Band.

Pupils from the Hub and family and friends enjoyed a day at the Yard in Edinburgh last Sunday 26 May. The Daisy Chain Trust very kindly funded the day out. It was lovely to see brothers , sisters, mums, dads and grandparents all enjoying the play activities on offer within a safe environment. We particularly enjoyed the sensory garden with it’s musical pots and pans and flip flop xylophone. The water pump and wet sand were also a hit.
To celebrate National MOVE Day (Movement opportunities via Education) we dressed up as our favourite movie character. We had some special visitors at our Big Circle. See the photograaphs below. The Blue Class made some popcorn to share anad we watched and danced to a favourite Jungle Book clip.
We held our Easter Bonnet parade inside on Friday morning as the weather was so cold.

We hope everyone has a very happy holiday and will see all pupils back at school on Monday 8th April. The Easter Playscheme will be running from Monday 25th -Thursday 28th March. Many thanks to the play leaders and volunteers who make the week so successful. Enjoy!
The Hub became a very busy place on Wednesday afternoon. We were all invited to a picnic in the Green Room but we had to go on different forms of transport to get there. We took the Runaway train to the seaside. Then a boat and a plane to reach the Red Room. We danced and played instruments to the music but had to look out for the ‘Stop’ and ‘Go’ signs. We had a picnic in the Green Room then the bus took us back to the Yellow Room. Everyone arrived back safely but we can not wait to go on our journey again.
The Blue Class went on a Fairtrade hunt in the courtyard, looking for Fairtrade items. They shopped for Fairtrade ingredients to make their delicious banana and chocolate flapjacks, with help from their P2 buddies.

Dougie came to the Hub on Tuesday 5th February. He visited each class with a huge selection of drums. All the pupils were involved- drumming playing avariety of instruments. The didgeridoo was a big hit.
