April 2010

We finished off our Weather topic last term.  We were very glad that it finally stopped snowing and we could experience some other types of weather!  We all did really well learning the signs for different weathers.  We have been reinforcing our signing every morning while we do the register on the interactive whiteboard.  We look outside and then choose a weather from the board for the day.

We had a special visitor to help tell us all about the Easter story.  Nicola came in to visit from Tranent Parish Church.  She brought her guitar and some things to help us learn all about Easter.  We also enjoyed making our recycled Easter bonnets (always Eco friendly in The Hub!) and then parading around the playground in them before helping to raise the Green Flag which has been awarded to the school.  We also enjoyed following the carefully placed red feet around the school, using direction words and a map,  to finally find our prized chocolate Easter eggs!

We have also been learning about Springtime and new life.  We have planted sweet peas and sunflowers which we water and take care of.  We had another special visiitor to help us learn about new life, a very cute kitten!
