Monday 27th November 8.45 a.m. P7 pupils to Risk Factory (we would be grateful if your child could be at school for 8.35 a.m. that morning.   Pupils should wear school uniform.  Please provide your child with a snack, drink and a packed lunch.

Wednesday 29th November 9.20 a.m. P3/4 to Cluster Football Festival at Hallhill.  Outdoor PE kit; trainers, warm waterproof coat (pupils should come to school wearing their outdoor PE kit).  Please provide your child with a drink and snack. Back in school for lunch.

 

   
Saturday 2nd December Parent Council Christmas Fayre

Saturday 2nd December 10.00 – 12.00.

 

“West Barns Parent Council is now working on our main fundraiser for this school term – the Annual Christmas Fayre. We are fundraising to purchase new gym equipment for the sports hall & hope to raise in the region of £1,000.

 

You may have noticed that there is a gift wrapped box in reception & we are looking donations to the hampers.  The hampers are arranged around several key themes:

Chocolate lover

For Him

For her

Active Kids

Relax & Pamper

Festive Fizz

Christmas Culinary hamper

Kids Crafting hamper “

Thursday 14th December

Letter sent home to order a Christmas lunch for your child.  If you wish to order a lunch please complete form and sent into school by Friday 1st December please.   No payment required for pupils in P1-P3 or pupils on free school meals.

 

Christmas Show

Tuesday 19th December

Note sent home re our Christmas Show  by The Baldy Bane Theatre Company.   We would be grateful if payment of £5 can be sent into school by Monday 11th December.

Do you have any free time during the week?

West Barns Primary School is looking for “helping hands” – volunteers who have an hour or two to spare to help with:-

  • school trips/outings
  • playing maths games
  • tidying the library
  • cutting out and laminating resources
  • tidying the nursery garden
  • tidying the flower beds and pots in front of the school
  • making Christmas decorations including sewing
  • teaching pupils how to cook

Parent Council Christmas Fayre Saturday 2 December 2017 10am -12 noon

This is our main fundraiser for this school term.  We are fundraising to purchase new gym equipment for the sports hall and hope to raise in the region of £1,000.

There are gift wrapped boxes in the school reception and nursery and we are looking for donations to the hampers.  The hampers will be themed: Chocolate lover, for him, for her,  active kids, relax and pamper, festive fizz, Christmas culinary hamper and kids crafting hamper.

All donations are gratefully received.

Letter sent home in School bags re Children in Need as follows:-

 

“This year’s BBC Children in Need is on Friday 17th November. The theme this time is “Do Your Thing”. We would like to support this in school by encouraging the children to dress as “their thing”. Whether it is dancing, football or a favourite book, please send your children to school dressed as whatever “their thing” may be. As we are supporting the charity, we would welcome a donation if your child chooses to dress up.

As always in school, football colours should not be worn.”

Rag Bag Thank you to everyone who supports our rag bag recycling.   The recent rag bag uplift raised £46.00 for school funds.

LOST PROPERTY The Lost Property box in Reception is overflowing with sweatshirts and jackets.   If your child is missing sweatshirts please check our Lost Property.

Monday 6th November P6/7 Visit to Seabird Centre.   Class will be leaving at 9.00 a.m.   Please provide your child with a drink, snack, waterproof coat, outdoor shoes or wellies.   Please also provide a packed lunch for your child.   Return to school for 3.00 p.m.
Tuesday 7th November 5.00 – 7.00 p.m. Informal Curriculum Evening.  Come along with your child to meet their teacher, look around the classroom and let your child shown you what they are learning this term.
