PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT SURVEY

Below is a link to the Parental Involvement Survey that East Lothian Council have developed to collect feedback from parents about their involvement with their child’s school.

Please could as many parents/carers as possible spare a few minutes to take part in this survey.

The information which we receive from this survey will  assist the ELC in updating their Parental Involvement Strategy.

The survey will also  appear on  East Lothian Council’s Consultation Hub;

https://eastlothianconsultations.co.uk/education/parent-survey, and will be promoted via the Council’s social media sites in order to reach as many parents/carers as possible.

Once the results have been collated, the ELC will provide the following information to all Schools and Parent Councils;

·         Individual School results

·         Cluster results

·         Authority wide results

The deadline for completing the survey is Monday 15th June.

Many thanks for helping with this.

Taster Sessions

Taster sessions for the new Spring/Summer Menu are now underway.

These sessions take place during the normal lunch time slot. If your child is not too sure about trying school meals and normally sticks to their old favourites or brings a packed lunch, then this will provide the opportunity for them to try the new and exciting menu items, without having to give up their prized packed lunch.

Hamper Donations

Please help us to make a lovely luxury hamper and kids hamper to raffle off at the Easter Soup Lunch.

If you are able to donate an item or two to be included in either hamper, that would be wonderful.

Any items can be handed to Lesley or Karen at the school gate or to Mrs Allan in the School Office. (by Wed 25th March)

Many thanks for your support and generosity.

WB Village Hall AGM

West Barns Village Hall  AGM  will take place in the village hall on 23 January 7-11pm. The committee look forward to sharing with you what we have been doing during our time. Our AGM (7-8pm) will be a chance to ask questions, offer suggestions for future and help but also to celebrate our community by coming together, sharing food, listening to music and poetry by candlelight.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year from West Barns Parent Council.

Our website is currently being updated after a long spell of inactivity. Please take the time to have a look at newsletters and minutes that have been recently added.

We hope to keep you as up-to-date as possible with our news as it happens.

A  bit last minute but tonight is the first PC meeting of the new year. Everyone in the parent forum is most welcome. There is no pressure to get involved – you are quite free to come along and just listen, have a cuppa and see what we’re up to this term.

Please see the link below for more information.
