Friday 22nd December End of Term Christmas Assembly at 11.00 a.m. Doors will open at 10.30 a.m.  All are welcome.

 

Our brass players will be performing at this assembly.  Can these children please remember to bring along their instruments.

 

LOST PROPERTY Our lost property box is overflowing .  Please check the box for missing items.

 

National Youth Choir of Scotland “Bookings for the National Youth Choir of Scotland Singing groups are now being taken. P3 children will have had or will be having a taster session in school. Please follow the link on the information leaflet that comes home to register BEFORE Tuesday 19th December, or click www.eastlothian.gov.uk/nycos

Choirs are open to all P3-P7 children. If you don’t have a leaflet, please click the link above for all information or contact cmcmillan@eastlothian.gov.uk

Children who are not registered by Dec 19th will need to call 0131 653 5252 in term time only or can try just turning up on the night. Choirs start back week beginning 8th January.”

Monday 11th December Payment of £5 due for Christmas Show (19th December).   If you have not sent payment into school we would be grateful if you could send this in as soon as possible please.

 

Tuesday 12th December Parents of Pupils in P1/2 and P3/4:

Hosanna Rock Christmas show

Doors open at 5.30 p.m.  Show starts at 6.00 p.m.

Tickets home in school bags today.

 

Wednesday 13th December In the morning P5 pupils will be walking to Belhaven Community Garden to pick vegetables to use in their afternoon cooking session.  This is part of their Project Plenty project.

Monday 27th November 8.45 a.m. P7 pupils to Risk Factory (we would be grateful if your child could be at school for 8.35 a.m. that morning.   Pupils should wear school uniform.  Please provide your child with a snack, drink and a packed lunch.

 

Monday 27th November (P6 Parents) Cluster Small School Camp 27th August – 31st August.   Information meeting at East Linton Primary School at 6.30 p.m..

4.00- 5.00 Football match at Hallhill 3G

 

Wednesday 29th November 9.20 a.m. P3/4 to Cluster Football Festival at Hallhill.  Outdoor PE kit; trainers, warm waterproof coat (pupils should come to school wearing their outdoor PE kit).  Please provide your child with a drink and snack. Back in school for lunch.

“West Barns Parent Council is now working on our main fundraiser for this school term – the Annual Christmas Fayre. We are fundraising to purchase new gym equipment for the sports hall & hope to raise in the region of £1,000.

 

You may have noticed that there is a gift wrapped box in reception & we are looking donations to the hampers.  The hampers are arranged around several key themes:

Chocolate lover

For Him

For her

Active Kids

Relax & Pamper

Festive Fizz

Christmas Culinary hamper

Kids Crafting hamper “

Letter sent home to order a Christmas lunch for your child.  If you wish to order a lunch please complete form and sent into school by Friday 1st December please.   No payment required for pupils in P1-P3 or pupils on free school meals.

Calling all parents, carers, grandparents, aunties and uncles!

Do you have any free time during the week?

West Barns Primary School is looking for “helping hands” – volunteers who have an hour or two to spare to help with:-

  • school trips/outings
  • playing maths games
  • tidying the library
  • cutting out and laminating resources
  • tidying the nursery garden
  • tidying the flower beds and pots in front of the school
  • making Christmas decorations including sewing
  • teaching pupils how to cook

Parent Council Christmas Fayre Saturday 2 December 2017 10am -12 noon

This is our main fundraiser for this school term.  We are fundraising to purchase new gym equipment for the sports hall and hope to raise in the region of £1,000.

There are gift wrapped boxes in the school reception and nursery and we are looking for donations to the hampers.  The hampers will be themed: Chocolate lover, for him, for her,  active kids, relax and pamper, festive fizz, Christmas culinary hamper and kids crafting hamper.

All donations are gratefully received.
