A schools poster competition has been launched by the Carbon Monoxide and Gas Safety Society, sponsored by Scotland Gas Networks.

In the UK, around 300 people are injured and over 40 people die as the result of CO poisoning.

We are calling on all pupils aged 10 to 11 to help us raise the profile of the dangers of Carbon Monoxide (CO) poisoning through designing an eye-catching poster.

There will be 3 winning entries picked from all over the UK, and some brilliant Scottish entries are needed to get the important safety message across.

Prizes include £300 for each winning pupil and £500 for each winning school, along with the chance to win a visit to the Houses of Parliament.

And there is plenty of time to get your thinking caps on as the competition closes on 31 July 2012.
