National Records of Scotland – Schools Programme, 2013-2014

We are very pleased with the growing success of Scottish Archives for Schools and we look forward to welcoming more teachers and pupils to General Register House in Edinburgh to take part in our free workshops. This year’s programme, designed to support Curriculum for Excellence and National Qualifications in Scottish history, includes the following new topics:

St Kilda: Living on the Edge

St Kilda: Planning the Evacuation

The Impact of the Great War, 1914-1915

This year we are also offering a short genealogy course to senior pupils where they are required to plan and complete a research project to produce a simple family tree. This may be of interest to pupils studying National 4 History: Value Added Unit, Scottish Studies or the Scottish Baccalaureate in Social Sciences.

If you are too far away to visit us for a workshop, book a web conferencing session instead.

Full details of the Programme and booking forms are available on our education website. Places are allocated on a ‘first-come first-served’ basis.
