National Records of Scotland (NRS) Schools Programme – bookings open for September 2013 – March 2014
The National Records of Scotland has launched its 2013-14 programme of free workshops and Glow Meet sessions for primary and secondary schools. New topics include ‘The Impact of the Great War 1914-1915’, ‘St Kilda: Living on the Edge’ and a Genealogy Research Project for secondary school pupils.
Online you can access documentary sources telling fascinating stories which pupils can use to develop their knowledge and understanding and research skills, and inspire their creativity. New online resources include ‘The Scottish Wars of Independence, 1286-1329’, ‘James IV of Scotland and the Battle of Flodden, 1513’ and, under the Year of Natural Scotland theme, ‘The Inverness Earthquake of 1816’.
