Lamp House Music are pleased to announce their new project ‘Music Schools For All’ which offers free places for young people across East Lothian on Lamp House Music’s renowned Music Schools, during school holidays from October 2013 to August 2014.
The sixty places are open to all 10 to 14 year olds living in East Lothian and as well as the free week-long music school, participants will also be reimbursed for their travel expenses.
The Music Schools, which follow Lamp House Music’s proven successful format, promise to be creative, informative, musical and most of all fun. The young people will be given Master Classes with professional musicians in guitar, drums and song-writing. They will work together as two bands in the fully equipped rehearsal studios, writing their own original song. The songs will be recorded in the Lamp House Music recording studio and a CD produced, finished off with a band photograph for the front cover. The tracks will later be played live on air on East Coast FM.
‘Music Schools For All’ will take place during school holidays, starting this October and running through next year’s school summer holidays. No music experience is required to take part but an enthusiasm for music is expected. With only ten places per week, demand is expected to be high and those interested are encouraged to submit their application as early as possible, even for those Music Schools held next year. Deadline for the first free Music School (to be held during the October School holiday – Monday 14th to Friday 18th October) is Friday 4th October 2013.
The Music Schools For All will each run from Monday to Friday inclusive, 10am to 3pm each day. Dates are:

Easter Holidays: 7-11th April 2014
Summer Holidays: 7-11th July 2014, 21st-25th July 2014, 4-8th August 2014

Rooms are open 7 days a week and are available to hire by the hour, they come fully equipped with new, top spec equipment including Mapex Drumkits / Vox, Blackstar, Marshall and Crate guitar amps / Gallien & Kruger Bass Amps / and Peavey vocal PA and desks.
Lamp House Music music lessons are fun, friendly and affordable, available in a variety of instruments for both children and adults. Fully experienced and qualified tutors are available for class-style lessons and one-to-one tuition, which include guitar, drums, ukulele, vocals, recorder and keyboards.
Pop Star Birthday Parties offer 2 hours of singing and recording fun in professional rehearsal and recording studios. With backing tracks and lyrics supplied, the party includes a photo shoot, party tea and CDs of the recorded songs and photos to take home.
