Junior Award Scheme for Schools (JASS)

untitled

The Junior Award Scheme for Schools (JASS) was set up by Friends of the Award (FOTA) in partnership with the City of Edinburgh Council.  JASS is a personal achievement award, initially designed for pupils in P6 to S2 to support the transition from primary school to senior school.

JASS is designed to fit with the objectives of the Curriculum for Excellence and has four sections – Get Active, Stay Active, Me and My World, My Interests and Adventure.  The aim of JASS is to encourage children to develop new skills and interests, recognise their achievements and build their self confidence and self-esteem.  The award is flexible and can be tailored to the interests and abilities of individuals.

The take up of JASS in Edinburgh schools has been excellent and we are now in a position to deliver JASS outwith Edinburgh.  The latest newsletter has been attached for your information JASS Newsletter winter pdf  and you can also access further information, including case studies, on their website at www.jasschools.org.uk
