“Young People in Remote Communities” – Artic Circle Forum

“Young People in Remote Communities” – Artic Circle Forum
Open | 19-21 Nov | National – Edinburgh (Aimed at Rural Young People)

The Scottish Government together with the Arctic Circle will deliver the Arctic Circle Forum, a 3 day event which will bring together a range of representatives from central and local government, third sector and academia as well as entrepreneurs and innovators from in and around the Arctic Circle. The title of the forum this year is “Scotland and the new North” and one of our Year of Young People Co-designers will chair the panel discussion on “Young People in Remote Communities”, which will take place on the afternoon of Tuesday 21 November and last for around 60-90 minutes. The session will investigate the challenges (housing, transport, digital, economic opportunities) of being a young person in a remote region, highlight expectations for the future, look at the opportunities to shape this and consider how young people can influence decisions which affect their future. They are particularly keen to hear from young people from rural communities to attend and take part and we have secured the same student discount for all young scot cardholders and will be running as a rewards activity. Marie from Young Scot will be attending and happy to meet with and support any young people who may be coming down to Edinburgh from rural communities. Please contact directly via maried@young.scot
