The Astronomical Society of Edinburgh are having a beginners evening on the 5th of November. This may be of interest to some of your pupils and teachers. The meeting is open to the public of all ages and is free!.

The Futures Fair is an information fair for young people with disabilities, and their families, about life after school. It is run in partnership between East Lothian Council and Capability Scotland, and is in its second year. This year’s fair will be on Friday 5th November, between 2pm and 6pm, at The Corn Exchange in Haddington.

Edinburgh University are running some careers events in non-Pathways subject areas in October.
These are in addition to the normal Pathways events in Medicine, Vet Medicine, Law and Architecture, details here.
These are open to any S5 or S6 pupil from schools in the local area.
The events are as follows:
Wed 20th Oct: So You Want to be an Engineer?
Wed 20th Oct: So You Want to be a Nurse? (run in conjunction with Queen Margaret University)
Friday 29th Oct: So You Want to be a Social Worker?
Each event will take place in the afternoon and will involve workshops, discussion sessions and the opportunity to talk to people already working in the professions.
