A trip to the Postbox

The children have been busy learning to write letters to Santa and telling a member of staff what special gifts we would like. Each child had the opportunity to post their own individual letter at the local post box and we hope Santa will send a reply. This was a great adventure, we took the opportunity to discuss road safety when on our journey. The children also spotted lots of houses in the village which were decorated with lights and other Christmas decorations.

Rhymes

“See-Saw, See-Saw”

Lots of rocking backwards and forwards using our loose parts outdoors. The children had to work hard to balance. Afterwards they wanted to build a see-saw, together we worked together to design and construct our own.

We are celebrating Christmas

The children at Whitecraig are celebrating Christmas!

We have a Christmas post office which we are learning to use money in role play situations and learning about what money is used for.  In literacy, we have been writing letters to Santa, making Christmas cards and explaining what our writing means as well as identifying our own art name to stick on to our picture.
