Our visit to the Whitecraig Village Hub

Today we went out to the Whitecraig Village Hub. We had arranged with Jane to visit and pick up one of the weekly meal packs. This weeks special was Pasta Arrabbiata. The Children were excited to explore and visit. We spoke about the importance of why we wear the reflective vests and what we need to do to keep safe when out.

We made the pasta arrabbiata for afternoon snack where the children enjoyed chopping the red pepper and garlic cloves. Some had 2/3 bowls it was delish!!

The children tried very hard to remember the route we took to get to the village hub and then back to nursery where they were able to draw and share with an adult.

Our Caterpillars have arrived!!!

The Caterpillars have arrived at Whitecraig. We are already seeing lots of changes and are revisiting The Very Hungry Caterpillar book.

We have been sequencing the story using pictorial cards and then attempting to retell the story to staff and to peers.

Minibeasts

We have been practising threading using the very hungry caterpillar beads which lead on to making our own necklaces with wool and pasta.

We found worms in the nursery garden and practised threading making our own worms.

Symmetry

The children have been exploring symmetrical shapes and objects in the environment as well as creating and describing symmetrical pictures, patterns and images.

Minibeasts

We are exploring minibeasts in our nursery environment. The children have been sequencing stories such as The very hungry caterpillar and The bad tempered ladybird, being creative drawing and painting minibeasts as well as learning facts from a wide range of sources to enhance our learning.

We are beginning to explore directional language using the Bee Bot where we have to give a direction (forwards/ backwards, up/down) to the Bee.
