The Christmas Selfie Contest

After reading the book, The Christmas Selfie Contest. The children were discussing taking pictures and “selfies”. Together we brought out our Christmas photo booth and worked together sticking the props together. Afterwards we had lots of photo fun!

Peace at Last

Following on from reading the story Peace at Last, our children have been looking at the book independently.

We have been making dens and talking about how the weather is changing.

The First Christmas

I can demonstrate my understanding of Christian practices, traditions and customs at important festivals.

We have been learning about the first Christmas nativity story. We used Nativity stampers and inkpads and were able to demonstrate our understanding by naming key characters and features in the story.

A trip to the Postbox

The children have been busy learning to write letters to Santa and telling a member of staff what special gifts we would like. Each child had the opportunity to post their own individual letter at the local post box and we hope Santa will send a reply. This was a great adventure, we took the opportunity to discuss road safety when on our journey. The children also spotted lots of houses in the village which were decorated with lights and other Christmas decorations.

Rhymes

“See-Saw, See-Saw”

Lots of rocking backwards and forwards using our loose parts outdoors. The children had to work hard to balance. Afterwards they wanted to build a see-saw, together we worked together to design and construct our own.
