P4/5 The Romans

While P5 are doing their swimming lessons P4 have been enjoying researching the Romans.  They are very excited because we will be making a mini museum for the P5s to visit and the P4s will be acting as their guides sharing what they have learnt.  It’s all top secret at the moment but here is a sneaky peak of the P4s doing this week’s research.

P4/5 PE

It has been lovely welcoming the children back after their break.  This week the children were very excited to have 2 PE student teachers working with us in PE and visiting the classroom.  We were focusing on our jumping skills which we need for athletic activities such as High Jump and Long Jump.

The children were able to identify what went well for them and what they would like to improve.

P4/5 Angles

This week P4/5 were continuing to work on their knowledge of angles.  They enjoyed playing an angle game which challenged them with questions about the names of different angles, how many degrees angles on the game were and which types of angles are bigger or smaller than a given angle.

P4/5 Scooter Training

This week P4/5 enjoyed a scooter training session in the sunshine.  They practised moving with control, turning, stopping safely and were excellent at gliding!  We are looking forward to enjoying some time on the scooters soon.

P4/5 Fractions

This week P4/5 have been exploring fractions! We practised cutting paper strips into equal sized pieces. We also wrote the unit fraction on each piece of paper.

We also tried iterating our rods to find different ways to make the whole!
