People Who Help Us

The nursery children are really enjoying this theme! They have taken great care of one another in their hospital, helped interview each other about suspicious characters in their role as Police Officers, put out fires and rescued people as Fire Fighters and they are currently busy working in their Post Office! In addition, they enjoyed a visit from PC Smith, including listening to the sirens and sitting in the back of the Police Van! They were also thrilled to get a turn of the fire hose and sit in the Fire Engine (which came to visit) and P1/2 came too!

Farming and Harvest

The nursery children are currently learning about farming and the Harvest Festival. They have enjoyed playing with the farm animals and equipment, have ground wheat to make flour for their apple crumble and listened to stories such as ‘The Little Red Hen’ and Rosie’s Walk (including creating a puppet show about the stories for their friends). They have learned a few themed songs and made scarecrows to decorate the church for Harvest Assembly. A great current favourite is exploring the Farm Shop with their friends as they learn about money and the role of shop workers. In addition, they are learning about Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year and have enjoyed trying apples dipped in honey and Challah bread.

It was lovely to welcome back our nursery children and to meet our new children and families, we hope they enjoy their time with us. The nursery children asked for a dinosaur theme and they are enjoying their adventures! In addition, we welcome Mrs K. Brunton our new Nursery Nurse, who has settled in very well. Mrs Simpson retired at the end of last term and she has asked me to thank all the children, parents and staff for her lovely gifts and kind wishes. We hope she will visit us soon.
